Marine interior decoration

Nautical decor can create a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere indoors, regardless of whether you live near the sea or not. The colors of blue, white and gray, along with elements such as shells, sand and wood, can create a sense of well-being and peace.

But what is it?
marine decoration.

Nautical interior design reflects the natural elements of the beach – water, sand and sky – within the home through the use of colors and textures. It is often confused with the nautical design style. According to expert designers, nautical style is all about feeling of peace and fun you get when you're near the water. But there are many different decorating styles inspired by the elements of the sea. How can you know which one is ideal for you?

Navy Decor

The ornament in question style it is not something that has appeared recently. It has existed for many decades in a similar form. Nautical design has been around for centuries, mainly because it was how people decorated their homes near the sea or in coastal areas. Originating from the Atlantic coast, the nautical style existed in every state near the shores of America, although it has different variations depending on the region. For example, in more traditional homes in the Northeast, one will see the use of dark, varnished wood. In the southern states, where the woods have a lighter feel, the decor tends to be grayish, affected by exposure to salt water and air. In warmer climates, coastal designs have tropical influences.

Insularity Decor

In the Mediterranean countries, the sea decorative style for interior decoration differs significantly due to cultural differences. The Greek Mediterranean aesthetic is a decorating style that (as you might expect) seeks to reproduce the feeling of the Greek islands in the interior of the home. Especially in our country, the Cycladic style is very popular. Its main features include the color white with the characteristic blue as a secondary color. It often also includes stone elements, simple furniture and natural materials. In this style, you will rarely see carpets as Greeks prefer to keep their homes simple and clean. The basic idea is that by living in a simple environment, the mind and soul are free to absorb other experiences. Greek decoration combines the indoor and outdoor environment, making it ideal for homes with a patio or outdoor living area.

Tropical Decor

THE decoration interior with tropical themes is a different approach from previous nautical styles. Walls with botanical or jungle leaf patterns are very popular and bring life to the space. Rich green colors go well with brass and copper tones. If changing the wallpaper is not feasible, tropical motifs can be incorporated through the furniture. Cushions or throws with botanical patterns or jungle animal designs can add a tropical touch to an otherwise neutral room while keeping the aesthetic minimal.
